Iranian response to Dr. Said’s letter

January 14, 1980

Dear Brother Mohammad:

Assalamu Alaikum

It was so nice to receive your most sincere and encouraging letter. Thank Allah you had a constructive trip and that you will be returning to Iran in the near future. We need dedicated people like you to contribute towards building an independent, genuine, and better Islamic society. May Almighty Allah reward you for putting forth Islamic concerns as a priority in you life.

I’m glad to know that you have the opportunity to express your thoughts about the present situation and inform Americans of the facts by appearing on television locally. If you have the transcripts, please send me copies.

Regarding your efforts to recruit Muslim physicians to work in Iran, Inshallah you will be successful. Allow me to remind you that I will help in any way possible. Do keep me up to date on latest developments.

I look forward to hearing from you again. Please accept my heart-felt salams and best wishes. I am confident that you will find your future life in Iran to be rewarding in face of the difficulties which may exist. It is important to think positively and be optimistic as was reflected in you comments. With such an attitude one will remain steadfast and patient.

Wasalamu-Alaikum

Sincerely,

Your Brother,

Ali A. Agah
