DR. SAID, NADIA, YASSER, NOREEN, & HASHEM

We seek new legislation which will:
A. Increase the foreign markets for our vast agricultural production.
B. Increase overseas investments into our district through my already established
relationships with oil producing countries.

Dr. Said's family practice is in Ephrata, WA.

Dr. Said was born in Haifa, Palestine in October, 1938.

From 1957 to 1962 he taught and acted as principal at schools in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

In 1962 Dr. Said started medical school in Granada, Spain. He graduated with honors in 1967.  In 1972 he received his PhD in Preventative
and Social Medicine at the University of Madrid, Spain with honors. In 1974 he received a public health diploma
from the University of Toronto, Canada.  He is Board Certified in internal medicine and family practice.  Dr. Said has been in family practice in the United States for the last 10 years.
Dr. Said is a member of several medical organizations including the American Medical Association, The American College of Physicians, and the Grant County Medical Society.

Dr. Said is an active member of the community. He was recently appointed to a three year term serving on the Grant County Health Planning Council. He is a Rotarian and chairman of the Vocational Services of the Ephrata Rotary Club.  Dr. Said supports and participates in some activities of organizations such as Physicians for a Nuclear Freeze, Amnesty International, The Rainbow Coalition, MADD,
and the ERA.  Dr. Said is married to Nadia, both of them lived in Burin, a small town north of Jerusalem. They have three children -- Yasser, age seven, Noreen, age five, and Hashem, age two.

They live on a farm between Ephrata and Quincy.  In spite of his achievements, Dr. Said is a simple man who would like to live a simple life and follow the philosophy of Luqman The Wise to his son:

Oh my son, establish regular prayers and join what is just and forbid what is wrong. Bear with patience and constancy whatever happens to you for this is firmness of purpose on the conduct of affairs. Swell not thy cheek with pride at man or walk in insolence through the earth, for God loveth not any arrogant boaster. Be moderate in thy place and lower thy voice for the harshest of sounds without doubt is the braying of the ass.

During legislative sessions Dr. Said will share services with a fellow physician to  cover for his stations, feeling that he will be able to be of more service to the public through politics if elected.
