Letter to Ali Agah concerning Iranian revolution
September 29, 1979
Br. Ali Agah
Encharged de Affairs, Iranian Islamic Republic
Washington, D.C.
Dear Brother:
I am writing to you this confidential and personal letter after I talked over the telephone with Brother (Arabic) two days ago.
As you will see from the materials included I had correspondence with Brother Rouhani a few months ago, about the possibility of moving to Iran and be a Mujahed under the banner of Islam.
As secretary of the Islamic Medical Association and president of the Prairies Arab Association I was one of the early supporters of Ayatollah Khomeini, and I was very close to joining him in Paris in November of 1978. At the last minute, I decided to postpone my trip because I thought that being a Palestinian of background will create more problems at that moment as the enemies of Islam tried to discredit the revolution in any way and also to exploit the relationship between the revolution and the Palestinian People. However, everything went smoothly in spite of all the difficulties. I am very excited about this great revolution which the Muslim Ummah had been waiting for almost a thousand years. However, I am very concerned about the dangers...since this is the only revolution in the world in which all the enemies of Islam are united in trying to destroy: Communism, imperialism, Zionism, and Bathism and ell those corrupt regimes in the area. This is why it is our obligation to defend this revolution and consolidate its principles.
And this is why I am writing to you...because I feel I would be of great help in many areas.
Since 1962 when I left Palestine - West Bank of Jordan - to study medicine in Granada, Spain, I had been involved in the Islamic struggle for justice and freedom. I established the Islamic center in Granada, then in most cities in Spain. I was the president of the Muslim Student Association and was one of the founders of the Muslim Student Organization in Europe...with Brother Hassan Torabi from Sudan who is now the leader of the Islamic movement there. I was also the founder of the Islamic Medical Association in Europe and the USA, and of the Council of Muslim Communities in Canada...and for the last two years, the Secretary of the Islamic Medical Association, nominated for President this year.
Dear Brother:
I have a big dream that is to establish Khilafa and now there is only one place in the world where the Word of Allah is truly worshiped. That is in Iran. I want to be of help. I speak many languages and have deep connections with Islamic movements in Europe, America, and the Arab countries. I would be of great help to make these movements vibrate with energy and determination for social justice and freedom.
This will be the greatest achievement of the Islamic Revolution in Iran not to be on the defensive line but on the attack against corruption and evil.
Dear Brother:
I have no materialistic reasons to go to Iran. I am a doctor with high qualifications and excellent practice. I own my clinic and lab. I am ready to sacrifice the very comfortable life but dull and boring to a more meaningful one of hardship but a joyous one under the banner of Islam.
I would like the meet you in person and discuss with you...and ask your help to meet Brothers in Iran.
Yours,
Mohammad H. Said
